St Saviour's Surgery is a friendly, efficient practice, ideal for all the requirements of modern family medicine, providing a wide range of services and meeting the needs of those in our community.  Our Doctors, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and administration team strive to offer a high standard of care and service.

Booking an appointment 

 

We now offer the facility to book routine appointments with the doctors only online via our website.  This enables you to make and cancel appointments any time of the day.  To use this facility please speak to the receptionist at the surgery who will issue you with a unique user password.

 

If you do not have access to the internet, please telephone the surgery on 01684 572323 between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday to make an appointment.

 

URGENT cases will be seen the same day, but if your problem is of

a non-urgent nature, you will be offered the next available appointment.

 

Please note that it is important to cancel any unwanted appointments so that we can offer them to other patients.

 

Home Visits

 

Please make this request before 10.30am by telephoning the surgery on 01684 572323.  Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. A doctor may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Nurse appointments

 

The practice nurses are available by appointment and provide a wide range of services including blood tests, cervical screening, dietary advice, blood pressure monitoring, child vaccinations, a range of health promotion and chronic disease management programmes.  Please telephone for details and to make an appointment.

Telephoning for advice and your test results

 

It may be possible that you only require to speak with the Doctor for advice.  If this is the case please telephone the surgery before 11.30am if possible and the duty Doctor will return your call.  If you wish to telephone the surgery for results of a test please do this between 9.30am – 5.30pm.

 

Repeat medication

 

If you have access to the internet please order your medication via our website.  This enables you to order your medication any time of the day in a secure and convenient way.  If you have not registered for this facility please talk to a receptionist who will provide you with a unique user password.

 

 

If you don’t have access to the internet please fill in your computer-generated repeat order forms ticking the required medication.

 

Please ensure your medication is ordered at least 7 days before your supply runs out. Repeat prescriptions will be ready to collect within 3 working days. 

 

Under no circumstances are our staff at the surgery allowed to take requests for medication over the telephone.  Telephone requests are accepted by trained staff in all pharmacies. Some pharmacies deliver to house bound patients, please ask your pharmacy for details.

We provide a wide range of services, including Family Planning, Health Promotion, Child Health Surveillance, Minor Surgery and routine travel vaccinations.  Well Person consultations are available for patients aged 16-75 who have not seen a GP for 3 years, and over 75s who have not seen a GP for 12 months. 

 

Some Non-NHS services (e.g. private insurance certificates) may be subject to a private fee, please ask the receptionist for further details.

 

Access to patient information

No medical information will be disclosed without patient’s consent.  For further details please speak to the Practice Manager.

 

Comments and complaints

If you have any suggestions on improving our service or if you are not satisfied with the service, then please speak to the Practice Manager.

 

The Practice will not tolerate violence or abuse from patients towards staff and behaviour of this kind may result in the immediate removal from our list.
